The presentation will offer the most up to date information on earning a New York State high school    diploma including an update of 2016 Board of Regents' actions impacting graduation and program           requirements. Topics will include:credit and assessment requirements for the local, Regents and Regents with Advanced Designation diplomas, diploma endorsements, pathway options, safety nets and the      Superintendent's Determination for students with disabilities, the CDOS Commencement Credential,      the new CDOS pathway to a diploma, and the appeals process.

The presentation will be given by Marybeth Casey from the New York State Education Department. Marybeth Casey has been with the NYSED since 2006 as an Associate in the office of Curriculum and Instruction.    Her primary responsibilities include middle and high school program requirements and initiatives.

She is coming to WNY to specifically address our organization! There will be an explanation of the different pathways to graduation, including all the new changes, as well as information sheets passed out that come from State Education for you to take back to your schools. She is also willing to answer any questions after the presentation regarding specific situations and student scenarios. This is a great opportunity to directly ask someone who is from our State Education Department and is current and up-to-date on all the changes.  She can also tell us about what might be coming in future months regarding any other changes and updates.  She is excited to talk to our group!
